Best Champagne for Christmas
A supermarket Champagne, over £10 cheaper than big-brand names including Lanson, Moet & Chandon and Veuve Clicquot, is one of this year’s Best Buy winners in the which? Champagne taste test.
Our experts thought this winning Champagne was pleasantly floral, with apple and red fruit flavours that lingered in the mouth. One of the critics described it as ‘candied, with a creamy texture’.

Our taste test revealed two English sparkling wines that have beaten Moet & Chandon and Veuve Clicquot Champagnes.
Our experts felt that you can now proudly bring a bottle of English sparkling to the table. One of them said: ‘Grape ripeness can be a challenge for English wines, so it’s encouraging to see two of them doing so well.’
